Advice to Patient |
For those exposed to repeated stings Avoid sudden movements if near to bee or wasp. Avoid open flowers and ripe fallen fruit. Wear closed shoes, Never drink out cans, check car for insects before traveling, keep food covered, Cover up well avoiding bright dresses and floral designs. Always carry adrenaline syringe. |

Prevention |
For bee stings, desensitization has been of benefit. Done only in centers with resuscitative facilities, as up to 15% might develop systemic reactions. The patient should be keep under observation for at least 20 minutes after treatment. Patients hypersensitive to known insects and when unavoidable running risk of exposure should carry adrenaline ampoules and syringes with them. |
